The last post made me want to listen to some Ultravox. Ultravox's Monument Tour was my first ever live show at Glasgow's now demolished Apollo Theatre back in 1982 (good grief!) where they performed what is undoubtedly their best known song - the spine-tinglingly cool "Vienna" - released in 1981.
Ultravox had just released the album Quartet in 1982 which I desperately wanted to get my hands on. I was aged 15 or 16 at the time and money was tight. BBC Radio Scotland started a new competition - the 'Top 3 Prediction' - a weekly guess at how the next week's Scottish music charts would look. I entered the very first week of the competition and won! I duly received a record token in the post and rushed out to buy Quartet. It was full of great tracks but my favourite would have to be the glorious "Visions In Blue".
