From 1970, "The Ghetto" has the distinction of being Donny Hathaway's first single from his debut album Everything Is Everything. It's a jazz fusion, mainly instrumental track with latin influences, and completely gorgeous.

If Donny Hathaway's voice was a night out, it'd be sitting on a terrace in the warm evening air with a soft insistent sea breeze whispering over your bare arms, your favourite cocktail close at hand, and a few good friends sitting round you catching the soulful tunes drifting out from the bar.
