The Theory of Evolution... Chic: My Forbidden Lover / Luther Vandross: Shine

So let's journey through time and watch Darwin's Theory of evolution at work...

First of all Chic release the fabulous "My Forbidden Lover" in 1979...

 

Then early Chic singer Luther Vandross samples "My Forbidden Lover" for his lovely 2007 track "Shine"...

This in turn gets the remix treatment at the hands of The Freemasons...

Then shortly after this UK dance group Booty Luv released their version of "Shine' sounding more like the Freemason's remix than the original Luther version...

The descendent now in no way resembles the ancestor...

Ok, it's time to get ridiculously, unashamedly Poptastic! This is where my blog might be a little different to other music blogs in that I dare to follow up P. P. Arnold with this, but I DON'T CARE, DO YOU HEAR ME??!! 

Christophe is a winner of French TV programme Nouvelle Star (French X Factor type programme) and this mix of the song borrows heavily from Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Aint Nobody".

Sometimes we just need some Pop in our lives... oh and it's in French!
