Sia - Chandalier

This is the amazing video for current Sia single "Chandalier" which is the first single from her forthcoming 6th studio album 1000 Forms of Fear. I've been a Sia fan ever since I first heard her epic 2004 single "Breathe Me" - which was previously posted in a FineTunerous fashion here: http://thefinetuner.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Sia%20%28Furler%29 If you're a fan of Sia's previous pop brilliance such as  her David Guetta track "Titanium" then you're also going to love "Chandalier".

Kasabian - Eez-eh

Kasbian's really rather good new single "Eez-eh" from their forthcoming 5th studio album 48:13 (with 48:13 representing the running time of the album). Nice video too.

Hercules & Love Affair ft. John Grant - I Try To Talk To You

Hercules and Love Affair have not only released a brilliant new single in "I Try To Talk To You", but also an incredible video to accompany it. The song (which features the gorgeous vocals of the gorgeous John Grant) is from forthcoming album The Feast of the Broken Heart - the third long player from the New York collective based around Andy Butler. The beautiful black and white video was directed by David Wilson and styled by Simon Robins.

Thanks to Rod Thomas from Bright Light Bright Light for bringing this to my attention.

Pharrell Williams - Happy (Urban Noize Remix)

So as I'm going all super-fan over Pharrell, here's a rather lovely remix of "Happy" to follow up the previous Extended Fix of "Marilyn Monroe". It's the Urban Noize Remix and while the original version feels like driving in an open-top car to the beach on a warm, blue sky day, the remix is the slower, lazily contented drive back home with the feel of the sea and sand in your hair. Urban Noize Music Group are a music production team based out of Miami that consists of twin brothers Steve and Steven.

Pharrell Williams - Marilyn Monroe (Matt Nevin Extended Fix)

I adore the new Pharrell Williams single "Marilyn Monroe" - how does he manage to keep churning out music this good? The Matt Nevin Extended Fix of the track basically keeps the Marilyn Monroe / Joan of Arc fun going a little longer and plays around with the intro to bring in a dance beat over the orchestra. It's PharrellFlamingTastic!

Dao Jones - Good At Being Single

The excellent Dao Jones track "Good At Being Single" from the new album 100 Years. Details of the release from KaboomMagazine.com below...

A brand new mixtape from the New York recording artist Dao Jones hit the blogsphere two weeks ago titled 100 Years. Produced solely by himself with assistance from his brother Frank Drake, Dao has delivered a diamond in the rough with 100 Years. The vibe throughout the project is in the moment, the wordplay and concept is perfect timing for today’s generation currently at the fork in the road in their life. A perfect jumping point for fans looking to get to know the upriser and along with those looking to get familiar with a new artist. 100 Years is a life told through beats and rhymes of Dao Jones and the young man definitely has a unique story to tell that many can relate too. Dao spits some realism over the productions, he is definitely a new artist the world needs to look out for as that next artist to create a project that will change up the game similar to So Far Gone and Overly Dedicated. A little bit of something for everyone in this project. Hit the play and get familiar with a great new sound.

Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake - Love Never Felt So Good

This new track from Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake is suddenly all over the place. I wasn't sure at first but after a few listens I'm sold. Justin's vocals really suit the track and unlike some previous 'contemporising' of Jackson tracks, this sounds like Justin could have actually been in the studio with Michael back when it was originally recorded in the early 80s. That said I still think Xscape is a crap name for the album. Read more about "LNFSG" in the Rolling Stone article below...

Hear Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake 'Love Never Felt So Good'
The track is the first to emerge from Jackson's forthcoming posthumous album, 'Xscape'

By Kory Grow May 2, 2014

Record exec and producer Antonio "L.A." Reid introduced a brand new Michael Jackson song at the iHeartRadio Music Awards this week by saying, "When I first went into Michael's archives and heard the in-the-raw version of the song you're about to hear, I was instantly reminded that, yes, Michael Jackson is the greatest." That song, "Love Never Felt So Good" – which was "contemporized," to use Reid's word, with modern instrumentation and a Justin Timberlake guest appearance for the posthumous full-length Xscape, due out May 13th– turned out to be an upbeat, disco-ish pop number that recalled Jackson's Off the Wall and Thriller radio-friendly dance cuts.
That's because the song dates back to 1983, the year after Thriller came out. Jackson co-wrote, co-produced and recorded the track with singer-songwriter Paul Anka ("Put Your Head on My Shoulder," Tom Jones' "She's a Lady," Frank Sinatra's "My Way") around the same time they recorded the 2009 Jackson track "This Is It." The original demo for the song is online, as is a version of it recorded by Johnny Mathis in 1984. The co-executor of Jackson's estate, John McClain, worked on contemporizing the Xscape track.
Reid executive produced Xscape, tasking recent hit producers with making the songs he found in Jackson's archives sound fresh. He enlisted Timbaland as the lead producer and brought in additional producers include Rodney Jerkins, Stargate and Jerome "Jroc" Harmon. The album will come out in standard and deluxe configurations, the latter of which includes the recordings in their original form.

Indiana - Solo Dancing

English electro-soul singer Indiana's excellent new single "Solo Dancing" has just hit the UK charts...

Indiana stirs the pot with her new song “Solo Dancing” – bringing hypnotic, dark disco vibes as she gives a compelling narrative of her penchant for dancing “to the bitter end” by herself.

Janet Jackson - When I Think Of You (LNTG Rework)

I bought this album when it came out back in 1986 and totally loved it. WITOY was my favourite track and the reason I bought the album. This is the LNTG Rework of the track by Late Nite Tuff Guy.

I'm dedicating this post to my friend Sheena with fond memories of walking Scotland's West Highland Way with her in 1986 and completely doing her head in by singing this for the whole 95 miles.

Control was Janet's third album and the one that started the process of changing her from this...

to this...

This is what can happen when you take Control.

May - Soul (FloFilz Remix)

This is gorgeous. Belgian singer May (at least I think she's Belgian) has released a demo version of her track "Soul" which has been remixed by Germany's FloFilz who uses jazz samples to change the sound and feel of the tracks he turns his attention to. May's debut EP This Is Pure coming soon.
