I came across this video today for Janet Jackson's 1997 single "Got 'Til It's Gone" from her brilliant Velvet Rope album - this was Janet at her absolute peak. It wasn't given a full commercial release in the US for some reason, but made the UK top 10. The track features a sample of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi", and the video - portraying Janet as a lounge singer in Apartheid South Africa - was directed by Mark Romanek.
