"Holding On For Life" was released towards the end of 2013 as the first single from Broken Bells's about to be released album After The Disco. I'm not the first to notice that this has a distinct Bee Gees flavour to the vocals, but then the album is called After The Disco. What really makes it interesting is the combination of the vocal sound with the retro 80's feel of the music - Pet Shop Boy's Please album comes to mind - although later in the track there's even nods to The Beatles and Kraftwerk.
