Bjork: All Is Full Of Love

I remember being spellbound by this video the first time I saw it. It's a thing of beauty and yet it's sad and cold at the same time. It represents the parent song perfectly.

The video was directed by Chris Cunningham who's responsible for a whole raft of innovative videos you may have seen without realising he's behind them - videos like "Windowlicker" for Aphex Twin and "Frozen" for Madonna. I may have to post them now that I've thought about them.

Apparently this video is on permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.

I always wondered what the Bjork robot entwined with the other Bjork robot - whilst being poked and prodded by all the machinery - represented.

Maybe not from the sources
You have poured yours
Maybe not from the directions

You are staring at

Twist your head around
It's all around you
All is full of love
All around you

The video could allude to pornography, to masturbation, but perhaps most likely based on the above lyrics, to how we spend all our energy looking for external sources of love to validate us, when our starting point should perhaps be the love we offer or withold from ourselves.

Thoughts?
